My name is Karla "Silent Eyez" and I was born on Halloween in 1977. Story goes, I wasn't expected to "show up" on this day. I was due to come a few days later but I had other plans. My mother was having contractions and went to the hospital. She was seen by the doctor and was told that she may go home, since I wasn't ready to make my appearance.

So, my mother went off to a department store to get herself a new nightgown and some baby clothes. She wanted to have something new for her stay in the hospital. As she was shopping, she felt those contractions again. And she felt them again and again. Next thing you know, clean up on aisle 3!

A little was born. An ambulance was called in and they took care of momma & baby, there at the scene. The department store owner/manager even offered my mother a lifetime shopping for us but she refused the offer! This department store no longer exists now. It would have been fun if it were still around and I were to show up and say, "I'm here for my free stuff". Oh, and if you're wondering, my mommy never did get to complete her shopping.

Here, I am sharing a piece of my Halloween childhood. I was such a cute little witchy! How many of you remember the Kooky Spooks costumes?! And how about the plastic costumes with face masks?! I've also had homemade costumes that my mommy made and/or put together. It was always so much fun to go trick-or-treating. I think the last time I "t-o-t" was in 2016. I was 38 years old. And the last time I actually dressed up was ... oh gosh, sometime before 2016! After that, I would just do face paints.
